The Center for Social Policy and Practice in the Workplace (Workplace Center) is a cutting edge program and policy development, research and evaluation, training and consultation institute focused on the issues that place people at risk of successful labor force participation.

Founded in 1969, the Workplace Center at Columbia School of Social Work is nationally recognized for innovation and best practice. Staffed by an experienced interdisciplinary team, it can call on the faculty and resources of a great university.

 

 

Our research and evaluation outcomes have contributed to and significantly shaped the field of career development, employment, labor force participation and workplace practices.

We offer training and educational initiatives that enhance workplace practices and connect individuals at-risk with respect to labor force participation to the world of work.

We provide organizational analysis to understand the organization’s goals and challenges to develop solution-focused interventions.

We have supported and developed custom designed cost effective, collaborative and responsive programs reflective of evidence informed practice to meet various needs.
